Brief address given by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Jamil Qalander on June 1st, 1995 (Thursday), at 06:30 pm. at a spiritual get-together held at the Academy’s ex-office of Humak Model Village Town (Zemni), Islamabad,
Grave Extra-terrestrial Threat
Today we humans are confronted with the three most serious problems, namely, ecological, Archeologico-historical, and existential. The chaste beauty of mountains and forests has been and is sacrificed at the altar of urbanization. Air, soil, vegetation, and waters have been poisonously polluted by the indiscriminate use of chemicals so much that we are obliged to inhale, eat and drink poison with its fatal physico-psychological correlates, adjuncts, and concomitants.
Man’s apathy and indifference to archeological and historical heritage and sublime fine arts has gradually turned into a deplorable aversion thereto. As a result, he has not only become oblivious to the secret that there are so many dead seas and dark caves awaiting human exploration, which enshrine the scrolls of living and shining wisdom but is also driven to destroy them as well as other historic-archeological treasures in the cynic process of political wars or in the name of this or that cult—treasurers which are immensely valuable and above political, sectarian and religious considerations.
Obsessed with and blinded by the immediately given source of his stimulation, that is, matter, man has lost his historic-futurological and transcendental depth, insight, and vision; he mistakes alloy for gold. Reduced to a shallow and hollow tree standing in the wilderness of his urban isolation, he is perennially haunted by the ghosts of neurosis and psychosis—a portent cause operative behind their victims’ urge and play to make others’ life miserable.
Regretfully these are the Sciences of Matter which form the locus and focus of man’s attention, but he has failed to transcend towards the Sciences of Spirit, that is, his ultimate ground. Like a vulture, he has fallen upon the dead corpse of his sense-data, i.e., matter without spirit.
In a nutshell, the domain of ecology, archeology, antiquity, mythology, history, and transcendental wisdom is at a stake.
The most serious danger threatening the very survival of this tiny globe of ours comes from an extra-terrestrial source. Like an inspiration, this feeling has possessed my soul that some highly intelligent creatures of an extraterrestrial civilization, far ahead of us in science and technology, are planning to invade and capture this green and fertile globe of ours in a not very distant future. To our utter surprise and all of a sudden, this invasion may come with a rain of extra-terrestrial rockets reducing our cities to graveyards.
It is in view of these stubborn facts and truths that there was felt an urgent need for emergently raising “Qalander Baba’s Academy of the Ultimate Sciences” as a spiritual and intellectual forum to seek for coordination and cooperation for creating a climate of global humanization and rationalization versus regional insanity of competition and race for material gains in order to make others share this cosmological awareness.
It is worth mentioning here that spiritually directed by Qalander Baba, Prof. Khurshid al-Zaman having not heard even my name before approached me and tasked himself to do spade working for the Academy. It is a humble beginning. Let us see how the human mind responds to it.
It is my cherished dream that all nations of this globe concentrate their energies and resources on cooperation for global welfare and exploring, unearthing, and saving the antique Archeologico-historical treasures and mysteries of our terrestrial museum as a joint venture.
